Bazadaise Breeders Down Under - Sunday, 26th April, 2009

G'day,

Myself - Corinne Matthews - British Bazadaise Cattle Society Secretary, Don & Dyllas Hatch - Bazadaise Breeders, Iain & Rhona Orr - Bazadaise Breeders & Bernadette Darcos the French Excellence Bazadaise Secretary have arrived safely in Australia after a couple of long flights. We are tired but looking forward to our holiday.

Our trip to Australia will incorporate several visits to some Bazadaise cattle breeders including a week in Rockhampton, Queensland between 4th and 9th May to their Beef Expo 2009, which is the largest exhibition of beef cattle in the world. The Show is only held every 3 years.

We have arrived at Sue & Ron Garretts who live at Beaudesert which is located an hour south of Brisbane. We have already seen their herd of Bazadaise Cattle, some of which are being prepared for the show at Rockhampton.

This afternoon we went kangaroo searching and eventually found some on a local golf course! We did get caught out once when Rhona spotted one through the trees, we all piled out of the mini bus, crept up as close as we could to find it was a cardboard cutout next to one of the holes on the course!

We are now off for a nice piece of Australian Bazadaise Beef and I think we will all be having an early night as the jet lag is quickly catching up with us.

Will keep you up to date with our progress in the next few days and photos to follow.

See ya,

Corinne
